When I was little, I desperately wanted my bed to be "built-in" to my wall. I remember meeting with the contractor when my parents were renovating our house, and drawing him a picture of the bed that I wanted, with bookshelves all around it and a curtain I could draw around me when I slept. I have every confidence that it was my seven-year-old drawing skills, not my parents budgetary and design limitations, that prevented him from building me exactly what I envisioned. (I did get a built-in desk, though! It's still pretty cool.)

Anyway, that's all to say that I was completely primed to love all the sleeping nooks over at You Are My Fave. They are all so cozy and lovely, and y'all should go take a look if you haven't already.

Fancy Shoes

Some days I like to wear fancy shoes

Some days, when I know I'm going to be at home all day, I like to give myself a pedicure and wear fancy shoes.

Dewey brought me these ones all the way from Spain, and sometimes I wear them with my twirly skirt and pretend to be a lady in Spain. I think that would be fun.

The same banana bread we've made my whole life.

I did indeed make banana bread. It was delicious, and I couldn't even wait to photograph it before I tried some. Oh, well. Self-control is overrated.

Butter

The best way to eat this banana bread is toasted, with lots of butter. I figure that I am sick, so my body needs all the calories that come with the butter to get better. If you disagree, kindly keep it to yourself.

I spent the rest of yesterday shopping in Davis Square and Copley and drinking coffee at some of my favorite cafes (man, I drink a lot of coffee). All in all, a lovely day.

Farmer's Market Flowers

Today, my boss and I walked to the farmer's market down the street, where they sold bunches and bunches of lovely, reasonably-priced flowers.
Having these pink snapdragons in my room makes me happy.

New shoes.

IMG_1443

I got some new shoes while I was home in Boston. They have an ankle strap that you can take off.
I like them.
