I think I need to move to the country

For a born-and-bred city girl, I have been spending a surprising amount of time these days fantasizing about living in the country. This sneak peak on Design*Sponge last week did nothing to help quell those urges- I keep going back and imagining what it would be like to live in a house like this one, in the woods.

I think I'd have a garden, and chickens.

I'd definitely cut down my own Christmas tree, and on Christmas morning, I'd make cinnamon rolls. We'd probably put on our wellies and go for a walk in the woods after we opened presents. Wouldn't that be lovely?

p.s. The freakout list? I owned it. Every. Single. Thing. Got crossed off.

  4. I'm also a born-and-bred city gal, but just moved to the country - there is something to be said for the peace, quiet and ability to walk in the woods anytime! :) (So sorry to be MIA, no internet for a week, catching up now!)

Hope you've been enjoying a great holiday week!

  6. Those are beautiful pics, but I should point out that this country house is by FAR the exception, not the rule. Most are...erm...simpler. And honestly, the modular home is the most popular type.

Not that I don't doubt you could whip any country homestead into this sort of shape.

Also, you can get fresh eggs w/o the hassle of chickens with a farmshare - there's one that's really tempting in St. Louis that delivers only a dozen eggs and a chicken every week.

  9. That makes me so happy about your freak-out list! Awesome!

And. agreed. I now want a house that looks like that on the inside.
Surrounded by woods. During Christmas time? I would drink crazy amounts of wassail.

  10. Everyone of these pictures are wonderful. We had chickens growing up. They stink. and a kitchen coop is even worst. BUT fresh eggs are wonderful. and a country home would be even better.
