I spend the vast majority of time I'm at home in the kitchen. When people come over, that's usually where we congregate.

Right now my kitchen, like the rest of my apartment, is small, but someday that won't be the case. I will have a huge, country-style kitchen. It'll have a big island in the middle, and my guests will have a glass of wine and gossip while I chop and stir.

I can't wait.
Can I have this kitchen too? The kitchen is the center of my house too and it's NOT guest friendly at all. I need a new one like this.

That kitchen looks amazing! I stumbled across your blog from Ruth Writes and saw that you were from MA as well! So, hey-o! I also like Abbie with and I-E-!
ReplyDeleteYou should come visit my house in Chicago sometime-- my mom designed the remodel specifically so that she could park people with drinks on one side of the island/breakfast bar, and she could be on the otherside cooking. Heaven help you if you cross into the production part of the kitchen without asking.
ReplyDeletemy hubby and I are already "house hunting" for the house we want in 3 or 4 years. if I don't like the kitchen, I don't look at the rest of the house. The kitchen is where it's at, yo. :D
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to have a kitchen with a nice big island!! We have very little in terms of counter space so my baking is usually done at the dining room table. Not ideal to say the least (read: flour everywhere)
ReplyDeleteThat second photo is heavenly!
Oh yes! That second photo is precisely what I envision. Although, at this rate while I'm still living with my parents, my dream is to have ANY kitchen at all to myself.....
ReplyDeleteHappy dreaming!
We share the same dream! I can't wait for the day I move into a house with a beautiful kitchen and say goodbye to apartment living forever! Love your blog by the way!
ReplyDeleteYou forgot the most important part...that kitchen should be within driving distance from where I live.
ReplyDelete:)
ack! I have to stop looking at photos of gorgeous kitchens or I won't be able to stop myself from redoing mine!
ReplyDeleteI long for the same thing. It must be HUGE, have tons of storage space, have tons of counter space for chopping and must have dark hardwood floors. And it will be light and airy. I can't wait til it's mine!
ReplyDeletethat's quite a lovely, open kitchen you have right now!
ReplyDeletefunny how that is the place most people hang out in. our place is small to but we make it work :)
ReplyDeletexo,

Goodness, that sounds perfect! Exactly what I want, too!!
ReplyDeletedon't even get me started about my future kitchen. sigh. that's the real dream!
ReplyDeletethat's my type of dream kitchen too. i have always loved the rustic country french-ish feel. it has to have beamed ceilings!
ReplyDeletemy dream kitchen has a dishwasher, and enough room for matt and i to cook without our butts touching. although our current tiny kitchen is cozy, it doesn't lend itself to feats of culinary expertise!
