I do the same with my mom who has cancer. She loves to sit with me on the porch and watch nature, eat icecream and watch the airplanes go by. I live in Vegas near the base. When she's outside she's feels so good it's like another person. She's 83 years old and can barely walk. She only goes out to chemotherapy. I think that's why she loves being in the porch talking, eating , watching nature . Sometimes she starts singing. There is nothing like a little outdoor fun without having to leave your house or dress up.( especially in Vegas during summer)

That sounds positively fabulous, I agree. My favorite pastime is sitting on my porch in my wicker chair and just watching summer go by.
