I went for a walk in the woods yesterday. It was perfect.
I'd been in a funk, the kind where I wanted to scream every time the people around me had the audacity to do something crazy, like breathe. I needed some alone time.
Even though it was raining, I needed to get out in nature, by myself, away from anyone who might breathe too loud.
I rode my bike to some conservation land on the bike path, and I walked in the rain, and I sat under a tree, and I got soaking wet.
I felt better immediately, and all was well again. I highly recommend it.
Wow! Amazing amazing amazing photos! I am glad you feel better now! Thanks for sharing!

this post was beautiful! i am falling in love with your blog little miss!
ReplyDeleteYup, very familiar with that type of funk unfortunately. What is it about letting oneself get wet in the rain that feels so good? I love rainy days anyway, but ones where you don't have to stay dry because you need to be somewhere and can just walk around sans umbrella getting soaked are truly the best. Glad you feel restored by your lovely, rainy walk!
ReplyDeleteI should really try this sometime. =)
ReplyDeleteOh girl, I hear ya on this one! Sometimes you just need to pull an escape move and head to the woods! How is it that a camera can be perfect company when you want to throw in the towel? Gorgeous pics... hope you've been doing better lately!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds beautiful. Perfect. Lovely. Glad you had the clarity to make that choice!
ReplyDelete(Thanks for your kind words. They really mean SO much to me!)
i LOVE cloudy/misty days in the woods, I don't think anything is more peaceful. And yes, blueberry season is about over and it is sad. I didn't even really like blueberries until I tasted the MI ones haha.
ReplyDeleteoh holy moly. that sounds like absolute perfection. i know the feeling of wanting to get away. i can't wait to get back to my normal life--reclaim some space of my own.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds amazing!! I totally know this feeling. What a good way to remedy it! :)
ReplyDeleteOh dear. I love the city, but sometimes I want some woods to run away to. Like right now after looking at these photos!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are amazing. I don't think the woods will ever stop being magical. When I get to that point of screaming, I'll go to the shore, especially in the winter when it's quite and the ocean makes you feel impossibly small. Helps put things in perspective.
