Thanks, friends, for indulging my whines. (And the emails! Man, I got some of the nicest emails of my life after that awful post.)
I'm feeling better now. Long runs, perfect weather, and roommate dinners helped. So did roasted rhubarb with greek yogurt for breakfast, and plenty of t.v. on Hulu.
How about you? What do you do when you're in a funk? How do you get yourself out of it? I feel like this is a situation where collective knowledge from the internet could be useful.
I'm glad you are feeling a bit better!! My funk dealing starts with letting myself wallow in it for a bit which includes movies, blankets, snacks and general laziness. After a bit of that I force myself to put on a cute outfit, jewelry, actually do my hair etc. and go outside. My first college roommate used to say "Look good, feel good. Feel good, do good." It is silly, but it does work. (we used to always dress up a bit for exams)
ReplyDeleteA walk, lunch, random errand anything that gets me out of the house and around other people will do. And of course, the best funk beater of them all, the company of girlfriends. In person is best, but the phone will do as well.
SATC and girlfriends. And comfort food. And tea.
ReplyDeleteRhubarb yogurt sounds amazing right now.
I hope you feel better sweetie.
I think about what wonderful daughters I have and that always makes the day seem brighter!
ReplyDeleteGoing to the gym helps, too.

ReplyDeleteI go grab a boxed set of television on DVD and a glass of wine. I have to recuperate by myself, otherwise I just take it out on others.

ReplyDeleteso glad you're feeling better. when i'm in a funk, drinking with (former) roommates totally helps. i also sit on the couch, eat ice cream and watch old arrested development episodes on hulu. sometimes, i make myself go to yoga class too. :)
ReplyDeleteps. i love your new banner. it's so simple and beautiful. i've been thinking of having a banner too, being that i just have the letters swoon on the top of the page and it's kinda ghetto. :)
ReplyDeletei dance a bad mood away, of course!!
ReplyDeleteokay, not really... i'm more of a glass of wine and a good cry sort of person. but i'm trying to become the type of person who can will a bad mood away through the power of positive thinking. and a glass of wine :)
