I have written before about my adoration of Hi Rise on Brattle, my favorite cafe in Cambridge, and maybe anywhere, so it won't come as a surprise that when I found out they were moving, I got really sad.
I've been going here to read my books and think my thoughts for seven years now, so on their last day, of course I had to go back for one last turkey and avocado sandwich. They're moving, not closing, but no location will ever be quite as wonderful as this one. I'm going to miss it. Lots.
{No trip to Hi Rise is complete without a busted-up moleskine. I have thought at least sixty percent of my most important thoughts while drinking a latte and writing in a journal at Hi Rise.}
{No, you silly cafe, thank YOU!}
I hope they aren't moving far and you can still enjoy them in their new locale!
ReplyDeleteI love places like this.
ReplyDeleteRisa giving up CHUM and COROC .
ReplyDeleteNevada had it's day.
COCEMOB- APARCA - REMPATE - SCOMPO.
aw, that's sad! but at least you had it for 7 wonderful years. better to have loved and lost than never to eaten their turkey & avocado sandwiches at all right? :)
ReplyDeleteI love to sit in a lovely little cafe like that one to sip a latte and write letters...
ReplyDeleteAny chance it's moving closer to you? That would make it a bit less painful.
awwww man, i hate change!
ReplyDeleteeven if its something as simple as having to buy a new handbag, or a coffee shop closing....
but then again i get way too attached to inanimate objects....i'm definitely going to be an old bag lady with endless piles of junk when i get older.
sorry to hear your favorite place is moving...but who knows you might like it even better :)
